We have just returned from the fabulous gaming expo known as Pax Unplugged. We invited Dr. Brian Quinones and Tim Grant from Gaming Approaches Toward Education to help us unpack the Pax, and unplug with the Doug. The podcast itself is full of silliness and inside jokes but hopefully we will carry the mirth to you dear listeners. The fact is Pax U is one of my favorite expo style conventions and hopefully we will at least influence you to join us on the next journey.

We are so excited to share with you, a conversation we had with Doug Levandowski. If one of the roles of Rolling for Change is to identify games with the potential for self discovery and confrontation of the unconscious self, Kids on Bikes does this in a way that allows the players to totally bleed and be present. I think especially for those of us who are aging young rebels, this game offers an opportunity to explore your past and the stuckness that may come with the changes of our childhood and teen years. Either way, we hope this discussion with Doug will be enlightening. We also hoe that you will take the opportunity to go quickly and buy this amazing RPG. You can find it at Renegade Games, Drive Thru RPG, FLGS, and of course Amazon. Listen, buy, play! Enjoy!

In this episode, Brian and Woody discuss with Sean K Reynolds the Consent in Gaming document, recently released on Drive Thru RPG. Sean K Reynolds and Shanna Germain wrote this pdf to assist GMs and players alike to develop consensual games. Perhaps this is an oft missed discussion, but there are situations that come up, especially in role playing, where a contract for ethical and consensual play is necessary and will serve to enhance the experience of all players at the table. We hope you will come away all the wiser after you listen. We highly encourage you to go to: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/288535/Consent-in-Gaming?term=consent+in+ and down load this primer on what safe play can and should look like.

In this episode Brian, Ginger, Suzi and Woody discuss the ways that gaming creates community and friendship. We have discussed this topic a few times in the past, but this time around its probably more personal. The episode takes a few turns as we talk about why we game, and how games have become the cement of our community.
